Since 2007 the Coffs Harbour Pink Silks Perpetual Trust has been raising much-needed funds and awareness for Breast Cancer Research and Women’s Health in the Coffs Coast region of northern NSW. Insurance Advisernet Foundation has been a major supporter of the Trust for the past two years, providing financial and insurance assistance for its highest profiling annual fundraising events: the Pink Silks Ladies’ Race Day with the Coffs Harbour Racing Club and the Pink Silks Golf Day.

While inclement weather saw the 2017 Golf Day washed out, it did little to dampen the mood with the fundraising festivities stretching into the early hours of Saturday morning. Fortunately the sun was again shining for the Pink Silks Race Day on January 8, and a successful day was had by all, raising more than $100,000 for the Trust’s ongoing work in the Coffs Coast region.

“It was a great turnout for a fantastic cause,” explained Les Oxford, Coffs Harbour Insurance Advisernet Authorised Representative. “Everyone donned their finest pink outfits for the day. My wife, who is renowned for backing winners did it again with a $1500 trifecta and a $400 quinella. But I’m pleased to say Pink Silks raised in excess of $100,000 – so we outdid her!  It did cost me $750 in the charity auction for a teddy bear that is larger than my kids and I now own a pink pushbike….but I won ‘Dad of the Year’ when I brought them home!”
