Insurance Advisernet AR’s help to ensure those experiencing mental illness never have to walk alone.

"The walk was so special for me, to see the courage by some to tell their very personal stories of hardship, sadness or anger and then to see the support given to those in need, with close bonds by the end of our walk. Something I will cherish and never forget."

Janny Poate - Chambo Challenge Ambassador

It’s just over two months since 10 amazing individuals from across Australia came together to tackle the inaugural Chambo Challenge, raising over $56,000 for Lifeline Canberra and The Chamberlain Foundation. Proudly, Insurance Advisernet played a central role in the five-day 250km trek from Bermagui on the NSW South Coast to the summit of Kosciuszko. The trek itself was led by Allinsure owner and founder of the Chamberlain Foundation, Peter Chamberlain, while four other Insurance Advisernet Authorised Representatives also completed the journey: Tim Hardy and Tate Harris from Allinsure; Nic Curkoski from Coastal Insurance Services Pty Ltd; and Adrian McKenzie from DBA Insurance & Risk Management Services Pty Ltd.

Over five epic days the group grew stronger through their shared adversity and daily struggle to push themselves from sea level towards the summit of Australia’s highest peak. Never far from their minds was the reason and purpose behind the Chambo Challenge – to help overcome the stigma of mental illness and stop returned service men and women and first responders seeing suicide as the only option to end their suffering.

The Chamberlain Foundation is currently in the final stages of planning its next signature charity event, the inaugural Razor Ride. The week-long bike ride from Parliament House to the MCG will take place in late 2016. To sign up or find out more visit www.chamberlainfoundation.org or contact Peter directly on 0417991100.
